Rules

  • Distances will be 1/2 mile for the K-3 runners, 1 mile for the 4th and 5th graders, 1 1/2 miles for the 6th and 7th graders, and 2 miles for the 8th graders.

  • If the number of athletes is warranted, the K-3 and the 4th grade divisions will be run two separate heats ("A" and "B"). We ask that you divide your runners in half and put the fastest in heat "A".

  • Parish/School team scores will be kept at the championship meet only. Scores will be based on 20 points for 1st, 18 points for 2nd, 16 points for 3rd, etc. Every runner who completes the race course is guaranteed 1 point for their team. A trophy will be awarded to the team with the most points. Individually, T-shirts will be awarded to the first 6 place finishers in each division. Places 7 through 15 will receive "place" ribbons and the remaining contestants will receive "participant" ribbons. All K-3 runners will score one point for their team no matter what place they finish.

  • Runners must have participated in at least one of the preliminary meets to be eligible for the championship meet.

  • All meets will start at 1:00 pm. There will be a walk through 1/2 hour prior to the start of the first two meets.

  • Course monitors (volunteers) will be needed for all three meets.  All monitors will need to attend an on-site walk-thru meeting before the first preliminary meet.

  • Meets will be held at Woodland Park in Seattle.
