Dear Faithful Follower of Jesus Christ,
Thank you for your interest in vocations. As Christians, we believe that God has blessed each person baptized into the Body of Christ with a vocation, some particular way to share in the servant ministry of Christ.
Whether we are called to the priesthood, the permanent diaconate, a religious order, marriage, or life as a single person, we each have a unique dignity and an important role to play in the salvation of the world. As we discern and follow our particular call from God, let us remember that true joy and fulfillment comes in saying “Yes” to the call God has for each of us.
Lastly, as brothers and sisters in Christ, let us remember to pray for one another daily as well as affirm and support one another in our calling from God.

Prayer for Vocations
Gracious God,
with grateful hearts we welcome the presence of Jesus, our Good Shepherd. We accept the mission of Jesus to bring
good news to the world by our baptismal commitment to gospel living.
Bless us with discerning hearts.
May we have the courage to give our lives
In loving service through married life, the single life, the consecrated life, and ordained life.
Inspire men and women to respond
generously and embrace the gift of a religious vocation.
We unite our prayers with the whole
Church, with the communion of saints, with Jesus and the Sprit in praise and thanksgiving now and forever. Amen ©2008 NCCV www.nccv–vocations.org |
